“Building the network that works.”

NOLAvate Black Turns 7!

2025 is starting off as a challenging year already. On New Year’s Day, 14 people lost their lives to terror in New Orleans, California is fighting wildfires, there is violence and heartbreak all around us, and there is uncertainty as our government changes hands—but we still have hope.

Seven years ago, a vision was born to create a space where Black technologists and innovators could thrive, connect, and build transformative solutions for their communities. From our humble beginnings as an idea fueled by passion and the belief in equity, NOLAvate Black has grown into a powerful movement.

What began as a community-driven effort to bring together underrepresented talent has blossomed into a robust ecosystem dedicated to creating pathways to success in tech. Over the years, we have built connections, cultivated talent, and inspired countless individuals to dream bigger.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we also reaffirm our vision for the future to build the network that works! NOLAvate Black’s mission remains steadfast: to bridge the digital divide, champion equity, and empower underrepresented talent to lead in innovation. NOLAvate Black’s work would not be possible without the unwavering support of our partners, sponsors, allies, and, most importantly, our community.

Thank you for believing in this mission and for walking this journey with us. Every connection made, every opportunity created, and every barrier broken down is a testament to what we can accomplish together. As we step into the next chapter, hope will continue to be our driving force as we work to build an inclusive and equitable tech ecosystem not just in the Greater New Orleans Region but globally.

Here’s to 7 years of progress and impact – and leading with hope!
